NutriSystem

We are unable to recommend the NutriSystem program. We’re including it here because it’s popular and many folks have heard of it. But when we looked into the reality of NutriSystem, we found so many complaints that we can’t give it our endorsement.

If you want a managed eating plan that really works to lose fat fast, that’s healthy, safe and medically endorsed, and that has great-tasting food, we recommend Medifast, not Nutrisystem.

Here’s a sample of what we found out about Nutrisystem:

From consumeraffairs.com, November 3, 2006 -

ConsumerAffairs.Com has received 33 complaints, nine in the past month, about the NutriSystem weight loss program. The complaints are not usually about a lack of results, but rather, the distasteful food and lack of variety the diet offers.

“The dehydrated hamburger becomes meat mush when prepared. Tuna and chicken salad are puree. The chocolates are like eating sawdust,” Donna of Rockport, Texas wrote.

Goulda Downer, Ph.D., a registered dietician who heads Metroplex Health and Nutrition Services in Washington, D.C. wrote in an e-mail, “Some of my patients have complained that the meals are bland, unpalatable, and ‘taste like cardboard.’”

And from the valuable site infomercialscams.com, which has recorded 24 complaints about NutriSystem and only five positive comments -

10/30/2007 - Christie writes:
I bought into the scam after my 4 children watched the infomercial and encouraged me to try it. The food is all processed and tastes like dog food. The marketing on how great and tasty the food is — is very dishonest, actually fraudulent.

8/6/2007 - Patricia writes:
I bought the over 40 plan for men and women. My husband and I hated the food. It was not eatable. Even the dog (who eats everything) did not eat it.

If for some reason after seeing this you feel that you absolutely must try the NutriSystem program, you’ll get the best deal (two weeks food free when you sign up for autoship) by clicking here. But let the buyer beware.
